Al Dressen's Super Swing Review at the Chisholm Trail Ballroom
Al Dressen's Super Swing Review will be performing from 8 to Midnight. Doors open at 7. Cover $8.
Lockhart native Al Dressen plays Western Swing like it's supposed to sound. Thirty years ago, in July of 1982, their first gig as a Western Swing band was at Austin's famous Broken Spoke Dance Hall.
Today's band includes Western Swing Hall of Fame musicians like Paul Glasse on mandolin (also a founding member), Denny Mathis on steel guitar, Wes Starr and Neal Clausitzer on drums, and pianist Danny Levin. Other Western Swing greats in the band include award winning fiddler and vocalist Ricky Turpin, guitarist and vocalist Lonnie Atkinson, bass guitarist and vocalist Billy Dee, fiddler and vocalist Katie Holmes, rhythm guitarist Ronnie Stewart, and Mark Kazanoff on sax.
