2024 A Christmas to Remember in Lockhart Lighted Parade Entry Form

We invite you to participate in A Christmas to Remember in Lockhart Lighted Parade. A Christmas to Remember in Lockhart festivities is presented by Friends of the Library, Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, City of Lockhart, Lockhart Downtown Business Association, and the Greater Caldwell County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024
(Completed applications are due by Friday, November 29, 2024)
Lineup and Numbering -- 5 PM/Judging -- 6 PM/Parade -- 7PM

General Rules and Requirements:

1. The parade will step off promptly at 7 PM. All entries must be in their assigned spot, fully assembled, no later than 6:30 PM.
2. Lineup will begin at 5 PM. Check-in for the lineup will take place at the corner of Guadalupe St. & Market St.
3. Judging will begin at 6 PM. Entries will be judged on the following merits: Lighting, Originality, Holiday Spirit, and Special Effects. Trophies will be given to the winners in each category.
4. All entries must be completely lit up. Christmas lights and spotlights are acceptable.
5. All entries must register with liability waivers on file with the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce (included in the application).
6. No one will be allowed to ride on the hood, fender, or top of a vehicle.
7. No articles whatsoever (gum, candy, flyers, etc.) may be thrown from any parade entry.
8. Entries must remain in the position assigned unless approved by a parade official. Vehicles must have entry numbers displayed on the front right side of the windshield. In the case of walking groups, the person at the front right side of the group must display the entry number which may be rubber banded on the right arm.
9. A licensed driver must operate autos and large vehicles. A person age 12 or older must operate small vehicles (e.g. minibikes or small tractors).
10. All bands and marching units must be uniformly dressed and accompanied by an adult leader. An adult responsible for following all parade rules shall accompany youth organizations or groups.
11. Only Christmas music may be played by entries or on floats.

Release, Waiver of Liability and Covenant Not to Sue
The undersigned agrees to participate in the 2024 A Christmas to Remember in Lockhart Lighted Parade on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in downtown Lockhart. We agree to cooperate in every way possible and to abide by the established rules to ensure the safety and success of the parade. The Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Library, City of Lockhart, Lockhart Downtown Business Association, and/or Greater Caldwell County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce shall not be responsible and/or held liable for the property of the participants from theft, damage by fire or water, accidents, and/or other causes of injuries. It is hereby understood and agreed that the above individual(s), organization, or business and/or cooperation, will not hold officers, members, agents, volunteers, Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the Library, City of Lockhart, Lockhart Downtown Business Association, and Greater Caldwell County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and/or sponsor(s) of the event responsible for any liability suit, including destruction, injury, and/or claims caused by them, volunteers, participants, and/or spectators. I also agree that the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce may use any photographs taken for publicity and advertising purposes. The Lockhart Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to refuse any entries not conforming to family-oriented quality and high standards of the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce. Failure to comply with rules may result in removal from the parade and will affect future invitations to participate. All Parade Committee decisions are final.
The undersigned has read and voluntarily signed this Release, Waiver of Liability and Covenant Not to Sue and agrees to be bound by its terms.
